Meet Bree

Bree Strickler is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and has over 10 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience. She has two sons, Stephen and Shane, and currently resides in eastern Colorado with her husband, Jamie and step-daughter, Gabriella.

In Bree’s own words:

“Zig Ziglar said you could get everything you want in life by helping others get what they want. My passion is working with small business owners to help them get what they want -- a successful business and a better quality of life. Working with non-profits and small businesses over the past twenty years has helped me understand that it takes a special kind of courage and integrity to be a successful small business owner. While many are great at running their businesses, they get frustrated when it comes to their finances. Whether they simply don't have time to devote to day-to-day bookkeeping tasks or their businesses have grown well beyond their ability to keep up with their accounting needs, many business owners cringe when the subject of accounting is brought up. My goal is to offer an affordable solution that takes the time and headache out of bookkeeping, offers the business owner the insight needed to grow their business and provides clean, reliable reports for year-end tax filing.”

Bree is passionate about bookkeeping, but it was far from her first love. In fact, all she wanted to be was a wife, a mother and a funeral director! After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Vincennes University with her degree in Funeral Service Education, Bree devoted her time to raising her family. She didn’t want to pursue her career until after her children graduated high school. Instead, she took a part-time job working for a small church which allowed her to work around her boys’ schedules. Soon, Bree found herself doing the books and before long she discovered a love of numbers. She took other bookkeeping and accounting jobs and soon found herself in a management position in a small but rapidly growing accounting firm.

Bree began pursing more education and soon realized that her on-the-job experience was preparing her for more. Now, after 10 years of experience in the bookkeeping profession and eight years in management, Bree has learned what clients need most — peace of mind, confidence and consistency in their bookkeeping.

She quickly learned that the more hands in the cookie jar, the crumblier the cookies get. That’s “Bree” for “the more people you have working in or manipulating a set of books, the more likely there are to be mistakes and inconsistencies in reporting.” She quickly grew tired of seeing client accounts go through the hands of a junior bookkeeper, a senior bookkeeper, an accountant, an overseer, and then a CPA and she knew there had to be a better way. — So she developed a solution!

Bree has a very simple approach for her Better Bookkeeping model. She records the transactions, reconciles the accounts, reports the findings, just like other bookkeepers, but here’s the difference— books are never passed on to junior-level workers (Bree handles them all herself), clients are always given a flat-fee, per-month rate, and she always contacts clients the same day of the week, every week.

Bree doesn’t claim to know everything—she’ll be the first to admit if she needs to research a topic a bit further or confer with another accounting professional before tackling a question, but her clients are always her first priority and she knows that Platinum Bookkeeping Solutions is sure to be an asset for your small to mid-size company.
